Why should I go through a nanny agency or placement service?
A nanny agency or placement service can connect you with nearby families, especially if online platforms or personal connections have failed you in the past. Families searching for the right nanny trust Indy Nanny Connect to help them find quality candidates that will be a good fit for their needs. Agencies can also provide information about nanny industry standards, local rates, and other advice.
How is Indy Nanny Connect different?
Indy Nanny Connect strives to be an advocate for professional and career nannies in Indianapolis. We are selective with the families we choose to work with and only accept those that provide legal, fair wages and standard industry benefits. And unlike other local agencies, we will never ask you to contribute money to pay for your own background check, pressure you to lower your rate, or withhold information about how our service works. We also encourage the growth of the local nanny community so you can meet other nannies in Indianapolis!
Where do you post available positions?
Indy Nanny Connect sends potential matches directly to nannies who have completed our application process.
I want to apply but I don’t meet the basic requirements to be placed as a nanny through Indy Nanny Connect. What can I do?
We’d love to point you in the right direction to be able to meet our standards at a later date, so don’t hesitate to reach out. If you’re serious about being a great nanny, we’d be happy to help you meet that goal.
I’m just looking for a summer position. Do I still have to go through the entire screening process?
Yes, all of the nannies we choose to represent must meet our basic requirements to apply.
I need to get certified in CPR and First Aid. How do I do that?
There are many CPR classes at various times and locations throughout Indianapolis. Check out our resource page to learn more.
What rate should I charge?
Your rate will depend on your experience, the number of children you watch, the duties for a given position, and other variables. For nannies with experience, we recommend starting your rate at $15 per hour.
